The secret to the ageless skin of the French! A313 Vitamin A Retinol Cream is a well-known French Vitamin A ointment that works to firm the skin, tackle fine lines, fade pigmentation and uneven texture. A313 is a topical Vitamin A cream that uses Retinol Esters. The Vitamin A concentration is only 0.12% but combined with polyethylene glycol, it better penetrates into the skin and is quickly converted for an increased efficacy. Speeding up skin cell turnover for a skin that looks firmer, brighter and with a smoother texture. This cream is also carefully formulated to avoid causing flakey skin the way a typical retinol product might. The texture is almost like Vaseline - which might feel thick and heavy on your skin, but it gets quickly absorbed.

Pro Tip: After applying A313, it's advisable to follow up with a soothing and hydrating moisturiser like Lait Creme Sensitive or Cicavit+ to help your skin adapt to this active treatment.

APPLICATION

You can also use it on your face, neck and chest. Just a pea-sized amount is enough for each application, no need to go overboard!

To apply it effortlessly, gently warm the product between your palms and then rub it on your face but be careful not to get it near your delicate eyes.

It's recommended to use this product at night time only since Vitamin A can break down in UV light and make your skin sensitive to sunlight. And don't forget to use an SPF during the day anyway to protect your skin! Avoid combining with other acids-based creams.

Plus, this is not a cute treatment. It’s going to make you look like you dipped your face in vaseline, which probably isn’t the daytime look that you’re going for!

It is also recommended to be progressive when using Vitamin A: apply once a week for the first week, then twice a week for the next two weeks, then three times a week for the next three weeks. If the cream is well tolerated by your skin you can finally apply nightly.

Apply a small amount of Homeoplasmine Multi-Purpose Ointment around the eyes and folds of the nose before application of A313 to prevent any irritation.

Amazing stuff for first time retinol users!

I love this stuff. I use a thin layer just on my t zone, my acne scars have cleared up, and when I wake up my skin feels soo smooth and amazing. I don’t use a whole lot because it’s really thick, just dab on a thin layer a couple of hours before bed.

I’m so pleased to see A313 available through French Beauty Co.! It’s the reason I discovered French Beauty Co. in the first place since it’s quite possibly the most talked about French pharmacy product. I tried it years ago and it wasn’t for me then, but it is magic in a tube for me now!

I’ve been experiencing some peri-menopausal hormonal acne that has been really difficult to manage. I started making some progress with a benzoyl peroxide face wash and a serum from Avene specifically for hormonal acne, but the scarring and redness just wasn’t fading. After my first night using A313 I noticed significant improvement. It truly works wonders! My pores are clearer, the expression lines around my eyes are gone and my skin looks clear, plump and vibrant. Putting foundation on in the morning I feel like I’ve already used a primer when I haven’t - my skin is just perfectly smooth. It’s amazing.

BUT… be warned. If your skin is not properly retinized, you need to proceed very carefully with this potent treatment. Make sure your skin is completely dry before applying (very important) and if you haven’t used retinol products before, this is not the one to start with. The first time I tried A313 years ago I could not stand the itch. But having used different retinol treatments over the past few years, I now have no itchiness with A313. This time around I also don’t have the dryness I’ve had previously with other retinol products. Truly, magic in a tube!
