With a story that dates back to 52 BC, Anis de Flavigny embodies French heritage and sophistication in every delectable sweet.
It is said that Julius Caesar gifted Flavinus the hill upon which Flavigny, in Burgundy, was founded. In 812 AD, convents and monasteries were ordered to cultivate aniseed throughout France. It is around this time that the very first Anis de Flavigny sweets were believed to be created. Since 1591, the sweets have been made to the same recipe, coating single anise seeds in liquid sugar and natural coatings, rolling them for 15 days in this mixture until they're perfectly coated. Today, they continue to be made in the same abbey where they were originally crafted and are sold in beautiful, collectible tins that tell the charming tale of a shepherd and his shepherdess.
French Beauty Co is an official distributor of Anis de Flavigny.
