What the product promises?
Created over 50 years ago, the powerful nail strengthening promises to transform the nails into strong, healthy tips. The formula infused with pro-keratin helps to harden the nail plate while restoring a healthy growth.
They recently successfully managed to improve the iconic formula replacing formaldehyde (a controversial ingredient) with crystal resin tears, a very exclusive gum extract from the Greek pistachio mastic tree that supports the natural keratinization of nails, drastically hardening soft nails from day one of use.

What are the key ingredients and benefits?
- Dimethylurea: A.K.A a strengthening ingredient of nail keratin. It improves the cohesion of keratin fibers, principal element composing nails, thus allowing to bond the three major nail layers together.
- Crystal resin tears: extracted from the pistachio mastic tree, native from the island of Chios in Greece, this gum extract supports the natural keratinization process of nails, reinforcing them. The nail plate will become richer in keratin, therefore more resistant.
- MAVALA’s exclusive complex: regenerating, anti-drying and strengthening.
How to use it?
- Step 1: Remove manicure and any oily film from nails with gentle nail polish remover. We recommend using Mavala Crystal Nail Polish Remover
- Step 2: Apply Mavala SCIENTIFIQUE K+ from the centre of the nail to the tip only. Avoid touching cuticles and skin around nails, to avoid them getting too hard. Leave to penetrate for one minute, by holding hands downwards so the product doesn’t run. A base coat, nail polish and top coat can be applied on top. Why not try Mavala Technique 3
Use two to three times a week until nails have obtained the desired hardness. Then, you may space out the applications. We recommend to use it for a month to start seeing results.

What we loved:
- It really works! After only a few weeks, we really saw an improvement in the nails’ quality. The nails were stronger, healthier and we noticed a strong reduction in the usual breakage or splitting.
- A little goes a long way: Even though the bottle might look small, only a tiny amount of product is needed every time so it is actually quite cost effective.
- It penetrates very quickly and we found it a great base under nail polish too so you don’t have to compromise your manicure while using the Scientifique K+!
- Doesn’t leave any visible residue: as it is not a varnish you don’t have to cover it either like with other brands. Which make it perfect for men too!
- Easy application: we particularly like the small brush applicator that allowed control and easy application to avoid cuticles.
